⚠️ With MFA, your BrokerBay password won’t be required for the web platform. You’ll still need it for the mobile app. For more information on password usage on the web platform versus mobile app, refer to our general MFA article.
Honeywell authentication
If you’re a BrokerBay user:
- Without a verified MLS member number, or
- Your user role doesn’t support MFA through your MLS
You’ll be required to authenticate using Honeywell.
- Existing BrokerBay users
- New BrokerBay users
- Users with .honeywell.com addresses
- Available authentication methods
Existing BrokerBay users

Check the email associated with your BrokerBay account for an email titled Set Up Multi-Factor Authentication from BrokerBay. This email contains your unique activation link.
- Select Set up your account now. This will take you to Honeywell’s Activate Account page.
- Set your Honeywell password.
- Your personal information, such as name and email, will be pre-filled based on your BrokerBay profile. ⚠️ If your BrokerBay account uses an email address from a company owned or operated by Honeywell (e.g., @honeywell.com, @brokerbay.com), you won’t be able to continue the MFA setup process. See Users with .honeywell.com addresses for more information.
- Use a unique password. It must be at least 8 characters long and include at least:
- One uppercase letter
- One lowercase letter
- One special character
- Select Create Account to finish your Honeywell account setup. You’ll be redirected to BrokerBay’s login (email input) page.
- Sign in to BrokerBay using your BrokerBay email. You’ll be redirected to Honeywell's login page.

Follow the Honeywell authentication process. If you’re using a public or shared device, uncheck This is my device.
After initial setup, future logins will only require your BrokerBay email and Honeywell password. You may be asked to re-authenticate based on certain activity or session criteria, such as when you’re on a new device, or after you’ve been signed in for multiple weeks.
New BrokerBay users
If you’re a new BrokerBay user and your account doesn’t support MFA through your MLS, you’ll need to set up a Honeywell account first before you can set up your BrokerBay account.

Check the email associated with your BrokerBay account for an email titled You are invited to join BrokerBay. This email contains your unique activation link.
- If you didn't receive an email invite to join BrokerBay, follow the steps under New to your MLS? in our general MFA article.
- Select Sign up with Honeywell. ⚠️ If your BrokerBay account uses an email address from a company owned or operated by Honeywell (e.g., @honeywell.com, @brokerbay.com), you won’t be able to continue the MFA setup process. See Users with .honeywell.com addresses for more information.
- Set a password for your Honeywell account.
- Select Create Account to finish your Honeywell account setup. You’ll be redirected to BrokerBay’s login (email input) page.
- Sign in to BrokerBay using your BrokerBay email. You’ll be redirected to Honeywell's login page.
- Follow the Honeywell authentication process using the password you set previously. If you’re using a public or shared device, uncheck This is my device.
- After authenticating through Honeywell, it’s time to set up your BrokerBay account. Select Next.
- Make sure your account information is correct. Select Next again.
- Take some time to review the Acknowledgements. Select Create Account.
- Select Go to Dashboard to start using BrokerBay!
For subsequent sign-ins, simply input your BrokerBay email and follow the authentication flow. You won’t need to go through the account setup process again.
Users with .honeywell.com addresses
If:
- Your existing BrokerBay account has an email address owned or operated by Honeywell,
- You’re signing up for a new BrokerBay account with an email address owned or operated by Honeywell
You’ll see an error when trying to set up Honeywell MFA.
Your next steps depend on your MLS member status:
- If you have an MLS member number, update your email to a non-honeywell.com address on the MLS. This will also update your BrokerBay email. After the change has been processed, retry the MFA setup.
- If you don’t have an MLS member number, contact your organization or brokerage admin to create a new account with a non-honeywell.com email. See Adding and deleting users 🎥 for more information on how to manually create new users.
