Getting There:
- Any BrokerBay listing → Book Showing → Showing Type dropdown
OVERVIEW
The Information Request feature allows Showing Agents to receive property updates and exchange communication details without scheduling a physical showing. It helps Showing Agents stay informed about price adjustments, offer deadlines, and other critical announcements made by Listing Agents.
Due to our system architecture, Information Requests use our standard booking functionality. However, it is important to understand Information Requests are not physical showings.

For Showing Agents
Submitting an Information Request
- Navigate to the listing you’re interested in.
- Select Book Showing.
- Select Information Request from the Showing Type dropdown.
- Select a time slot. Please note that while a time slot must be selected, no physical showing is expected.
- Once confirmed by the Listing Agent, you will be connected to receive notifications.
Considerations for Showing Agents
- Upon submitting an Information Request, all parties involved will receive standard showing notifications. While the word "showing" is used in the notifications, no physical showing is expected.
- Depending on the listing's Showing Configuration, the Listing Agent or Contact may need to confirm the Information Request.
- After confirming the Information Request, the Listing Agent retains discretion over which Showing Agents, if any, receive notifications.
- While the time slot you select will be marked as reserved in the system, no physical showing is expected.
Using the Chat Tool for simple messaging
If you only need to communicate with the Listing Agent and do not require ongoing notifications, we recommend using the Chat Tool instead. The Chat Tool allows you to directly message the Listing Agent with no notification expectations.
Please see Sending chat messages 🎥 for more information.
For Listing Agents
Information Requests will appear in the listing’s Showings with Information Request as the showing type. Review these requests with attention to the showing type to distinguish them from physical showings.
You can approve or decline the Information Requests based on your preference to share your contact information and listing updates with the requesting Agent.
Considerations for Listing Agents
- Approving an Information Request allows the Showing Agent to receive any notifications you choose to send.
- Information Requests will occupy time slots in your calendar, even though no physical showing will occur.
- If you need to free up a time slot occupied by an Information Request, you can cancel its appointment. The Showing Agent will still be retained within the listing’s contacts.
